In the ‘90s, I would have been considered overweight. The perfect body would be would be thin and leggy.
In the ‘50s, curves were desirable and weight gain advertisements were popular. In the ‘60s—only a decade later—it flipped as thin figures with slim legs and small chests took over as the new trendy body type. And now it's the trending "Kardashian" body which is impossible to obtain over a healthy diet and 50 squats, unless you opt for procedures like fillers / liposuction / bbl etc. which will cost you a fortune along with its maintenance and of course the underlying horrors of getting blotched if anything goes wrong along the way.

When we embark on our journey to love ourselves and our bodies, we should not let the pop culture or media sway us into thinking we are not perfect. The billion dollar beauty industry relies on trends to thrive in the market, the faces on these magazine covers should not be dictating how we feel about ourselves, or the least make us insecure. Beauty is subjective, its standards change from one time zone to another. Remember one rule, the more you try to fit in by putting on all those fake lashes every day, the more you rip off your natural ones.
